There are many ways to help the animals here at the farm. Unlike petting zoos, we are not generally open to the public. We do arrange scheduled tours. If you’re interested in being contacted for the next tour please send your contact information to theflawedfarm@yahoo.ca including email address and we’ll let you know about the next tour date..
Periodically, we offer working visits to the farm. Some of the task that we need help with are:
- Stall cleaning, feeding and grooming animals on pre-arranged days. There is always time to enjoy the company of the animals once the tasks are finished.
- Those with construction experience or handy-man skills and help us with the many repairs or building initiatives which are on-going in our century barn.
- We also undertake specific builds throughout the year (like last summer’s outdoor run for the pigs and this year’s coop build). If you would like to volunteer for a specific project, please let us know by emailing us at the flawedfarm@yahoo.ca.
We will be doing some building in late fall in order to expand our battery hen rescue and can certainly use help.
- Teenagers who would like to earn community service hours for their diplomas are welcome to come out with their friends at a time convenient to them. (Boots are necessary and don’t forget to bring your volunteer forms to have filled out!)
- Consider being a volunteer driver for some of our rescued battery hens. We need people willing to transport hens to their new homes.
- If you can't make it out to see us donations always help. Check out our donations page for a list of items needed to directly help animals.
One is not born into the world to do everything, but to do something.
